Henderson Songfest, INC. Grant Project– 2026 DBA Sandy Lee Songfest

After a review of applications, Henderson Songfest, INC. will award grant(s) from the proceeds of the 2026 Sandy Lee Watkins Songfest. The grant(s) will be awarded for program(s) that impact the residents of Henderson County, Kentucky. The final amount of the grant(s) will not be determined until after 2026Songfest. Grants for the arts, arts education, education, and veterans will be given preference. However, other nonprofits will be considered based on available funds. Incomplete grant applications will not be considered. 

The applicant(s) will submit the grant application by April 1, 2026, and agree to an interview, if requested. 

The grantee(s) will be notified by April 30, 2026. If your organization is selected to receive funds from SLW Songfest.

Members of your organization will be expected to help with aspects of the Songfest to be determined. For example, your organization may be expected to promote ticket sales or provide volunteers to staff venues or related events. (Failure to comply may result in a reduction of the amount awarded.)

THE GRANTEE(S) SHOULD:

1. Be a nonprofit organization primarily serving residents of Henderson County, Kentucky 
2. Have a commitment to long-range planning and financial accountability 
3. Have a good sound plan for your project or program
4. Benefit Residents of Henderson County, Kentucky 

INELIGIBLE PROJECTS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1. A proposal to reduce or retire debt
2. Political campaigns
3. Travel expenses for groups such as bands or sports teams
4. Event sponsorship, annual appeals, or membership contributions
5. Organizations outside of Henderson County, Kentucky

*IN THE EVENT THE SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL IS CANCELLED, GRANTS MAY NOT BE AWARDED
