HENDERSON, Ky. (July 17, 2013) -- Writers of blockbuster songs like Jimmy Buffet’s “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes No Shirt No Problems,” Darryl Worley’s “It Sounds Like Life To Me," and Garth Brook’s “The Dance,” only skims the surface of some top hits created by elite songwriter’s coming to Henderson, July 31- Aug. 3.

Twenty-nine accomplished Nashville songwriters who include Grammy award winners and nominees, stage performers in major bands, record producers, publishers and more will all come to share their love of songwriting and share their chart topping hits. These talented individuals will be playing their songs and telling the stories behind them, at the Fourth Annual Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival featuring Henderson native and award winning songwriter, Kerry Kurt Phillips and friends. There will be 22 shows in four days; two sets nightly in three downtown Henderson venues giving a true Nashville feel to the festivities. The three locations within one downtown walking block will be Rookies Sports Bar on 2nd Street, Delizio Restaurant on 2nd in the first floor of the Soaper Building and RiverBend Academy in the 2nd floor of the Soaper building at 2nd and Main. Steve Williams - writer of the #1 hit "Redneck Yacht Club", added to 2013 Line-up!

Steve Williams’ songs are featured on 3 gold records. “Where Have I Been All My Life” recorded by George Strait has been heralded as one of the most poignant songs of Strait’s career and is featured on “Twang” (2009 release). “Redneck Yacht Club” (recorded by Craig Morgan), went to #1 in 2005 and became one of the most downloaded songs of the year. ASCAP called it “The summer song of the year.” It’s popularity spawned several businesses and the official website RedneckYachtClub.com. Buddy Jewell’s debut album also went gold and features Williams’ song, “O’Reilly Luck”.
