Would you like to get to know one of the top songwriters from this year’s festival? Do you have room in your home for a guest or two? We’re gearing up for the 9th Annual Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriter’s Festival July 25 through July 28, 2018. Our festival was recently named one of the top ten summer music festivals in Kentucky. The event raises funds to make arts and music education accessible to all. Currently, the non-profit is seeking local host families to “Adopt-a-Songwriter.”
We are looking for people willing to share some Henderson hospitality with our Nashville guests as host families. Host families need to provide private sleeping accommodations for an individual songwriter or a songwriter and spouse. A small number of songwriters come with families and young children. Meals are primarily handled offsite, but host families offer snacks and other comforts of home to make a stay pleasurable. Host families will receive tickets to the festival.
“Host families from previous years have become great friends with the songwriter’s they housed,” said Kerry Kurt Phillips. “Many enjoy visiting with them on a regular basis, going to see them perform in other venues and developing long-term relationships as they follow their success. Henderson’s hospitality is getting around in Nashville!”
